this is a very cute game with the m&m characters in it…but is it hard for my 4 and 7 yr old brother and sister…the boards is what make it hard, they are to much for little kids to do…and when you get stuck in the wall or on something when your racing, it makes this obnoxious sound every time, and with 2 little kids that are in the wall all the time, it can drive you nuts..u can turn the sound down, but thats if you remember before its to late, or if the kids can turn it down, but if they cant play the game, then they cant turn it down…I like it though, but im an adult. And what matters it that the kids like it and can play it…and they cant, they’ve only played like 3 times and we’ve had it for a few months now.
We bought this game for our 4 and 6 year olds along with their wii for Christmas. It is terrible-very hard to drive without hitting things, the doorways are very small and it seems very sensitive. The characters are designed for a younger audience so it seems really bad that the skill level is nowhere near similar. This was highly frustrating to all in the family who tried it. There should have been a way to make the skill level easier! It was also frustrating that we didn’t learn all of this until we opened it and now can’t return it. I would never buy this game knowing what we know now! The controls were also rather complicated and a lot for little ones to remember. The m and m characters are so popular-it had the makings of a great game! We’re sorry that it isn’t!
I purchased this game expecting Mario Kart, but that it isn’t. However, if you go into it with that in mind you will probably enjoy it. The controls are a little sensitive, and that takes some time getting used to, but that is half the fun of the game. My husband is really good at it and loves it. My 4 year old also loves it. I think that for $15 it was a great purchase!
For its intended purpose, this game is lousy (I’m so glad I didn’t give up on racing games altogether and got Mario Kart). However, if you have a particular weakness for M&M’s that is hampering your weight-loss efforts, this is the game for you. Whenever you feel an M&M craving coming on, play this game for about 5 minutes and you will want to get everything associated with M&M’s out of your sight. In fact, you might lose your appetite altogether. I’ve lost almost 30 lbs.
Seriously though, I strongly recommend spending the extra money and getting Mario Kart Wii instead. M&Ms Kart Racing is a lemon.
If M&M Kart racing had been designed and programed like Mario Kart, it might be a reasonable game in value. But even at $[...], it’s still a waste of money. The graphics are much, MUCH worse than Mario Kart. The controls are very difficult to work, so much so that it’s no fun. You’re forever getting caught in corners, or walls, or otherwise just stuck on something. By the time you get yourself free and back on track, the game is over. Even after unlocking them all, there just aren’t that many courses. The little m&m characters are cute but but not cute enough to justify buying this game. I was fortunate to borrow it; we will for sure not buy it. It is SO bad that it makes me not want to buy other m&m games for fear that they too are as sloppily programed. This game shoud be in a Happy Meal as a giveaway or maybe as a promotion where you send in xx m&m UPC codes.
